Growing up in Ashkelon, Israel played an important role in becoming an Artist.

Ashkelon, on the Mediterranean coast, is a historical town dating back thousands of years.

It has a unique mixture of history and a diverse population.

Ilana started working with clay at age 5. She earned a BA in Hebrew literature from the University of Haifa, and perused an MA in the literature of the Old Testament at Tel Aviv University.

Since moving to United States in 1988, Ilana has been sculpting with clay, recycled metal, plaster, concrete and bronze, and printed clay monoprints.

Ilana has taught ceramics and clay sculpting for the past 25 years. Her sculptures have been in juried group shows, solo exhibitions and are part of private collections in various countries.
